websites.

No templates. No platform fees, ever.
No two sites that look anything alike.
As therapy platforms keep raising their prices, owning your website outright has never made more sense. Hand-coded by a developer whose wife runs a group practice, I know this world from the inside.

About the studio

Tech, made with
actual care.

Most therapists didn't go into private practice to wrestle with website builders on the weekend. You chose this work to help people, and your online presence should reflect the care and craft you bring to every session.

I'm Chad, a Denver-based developer whose wife runs her own group practice. I've built her site. I know this world, the directories, the niche specialties, the way clients actually find you, the language that lands and the language that doesn't.

Every site I build is hand-coded from scratch. No themes. No page builders. No two practices ever get the same template, because no two practices are the same. What you get is a small, fast, beautifully made website that's yours, your domain, your hosting, your code, your name on everything.

And unlike subscription platforms, there are no ongoing fees that creep up every year. You pay once, own everything outright, and never have to worry about a company raising rates, or disappearing, and taking your site with it.

"Most therapist websites look like they were built the same afternoon, by someone who'd never met a therapist."
, The reason this studio exists

Why hand-coded?

Three things your current site
probably can't say.

The case for owning your web presence outright.

01

No template chrome

Your therapist website looks like nothing else online. Not like Squarespace. Not like Wix. Not like anything a competitor is renting for $40-$100/month. Every pixel is intentional and yours alone.

02

You own everything

Domain, hosting account, code repository, all in your name. The site stays yours regardless of what happens between us. This is the opposite of platforms where the site disappears the day you stop paying.

03

Built for search

Clean semantic HTML, proper schema markup, local SEO targeting, and a sitemap submitted on day one. Not bolted on as an afterthought, structured for Google from the first line of code.

How this works

Considered,
not complicated.

A four-step process that keeps things moving without ever leaving you wondering what comes next. No project management software, no onboarding portals. Just clear communication and consistent progress.

i.

The first call

Thirty minutes, free, no pitch deck. You tell me about your practice and the kind of clients you want to reach. I tell you honestly whether I'm the right person for the project.

ii.

Design & build

I design and code your site from scratch, sharing live previews along the way. We iterate on look, voice, and structure together. Usually three to five weeks, start to finish.

iii.

Review & refine

You review the site, request changes, and we fine-tune until everything feels right. I'm responsive and unhurried, this isn't an assembly line.

iv.

Launch & after

Your site goes live. I'm here for post-launch questions for the first 30 days, available on retainer or hourly after that. You're never left on your own.

What it costs

Real numbers,
not a sales call.

No monthly fees, no surprise invoices. Here's what a hand-coded practice website actually runs, starting price, plain English.

  • Contact, wired straight to your inbox
  • SEO-structured from day one
Group practice
$2,500

Everything in Solo, plus room for the rest of your clinicians.

Under the hood, every time

The part that doesn't screenshot well, but is the actual reason your site gets found on Google, loads fast, and doesn't need a plugin update every other week.

  • Hand-coded, not templated — static HTML & CSS. No WordPress core to patch, no page-builder bloat, no 2am plugin-conflict emails.
  • Full on-page SEO — unique meta titles & descriptions per page, Open Graph tags, and schema.org markup (LocalBusiness, FAQPage, plus per-clinician Person schema on Group builds).
  • Sitemap, robots.txt & llms.txt — so Google, Bing, and AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity can all find and describe your practice correctly.
  • Mobile-first & fast — fully responsive layout with compressed, WebP-optimized images, built to hold up under Google's Core Web Vitals.
  • HTTPS, custom domain & DNS — set up and pointed correctly from day one, not left as a "you'll figure it out" step.
  • Accessible, dependable hosting — WCAG-conscious contrast & semantics, served from GitHub Pages / Cloudflare — no monthly host bill, no "urgent security update" emails.

Beyond the base build

A few things clients ask for often enough that they've earned their own line item. Anything not listed here is billed the same honest way: $150/hr, or a fixed quote after a quick look.

  • SEO & authority carryoverMigrating an existing site? Redirects, sitemap, robots.txt, llms.txt, and schema all carry over, so Google doesn't forget you exist for three months.
    From $250
  • Branded email templatesContact & intake notifications that look like your site instead of a default form-plugin email.
    From $200
  • Self-edit access (TinaCMS)A simple login so you can update basic page copy yourself. No code, no calling me, unless you want to.
    From $400
  • Google Business Profile setupClaimed, optimized, and linked back to your new site correctly.
    From $200
  • Ongoing copy & monthly postsA standing retainer if you want fresh content without thinking about it.
    $150/hr

Bigger vision, custom features, or something that doesn't fit a box? Tell me about it and I'll scope it honestly.

Kind words

"Chad built our whole group-practice site and I still get compliments on it, from clients and from other therapists asking who made it. It sounds like us, it's fast, and I've never once worried about a monthly fee or losing access. He gets this field in a way most web people simply don't."

Under the hood

Built on infrastructure you own.

Every site is hand-coded and deployed on the same modern, professional stack the biggest sites on the internet run on, chosen for speed, security, and the simple fact that all of it ends up in your name, not rented from a platform.

Static HTML / CSS / JS

No database, no plugins, no themes to update. There's simply less that can break, get hacked, or slow down, a site that stays fast and secure for years.

Fast · secure · low-maintenance
GitHub

Your code lives in a version-controlled repository in your name, backed up, fully documented, and portable. Nothing is locked inside someone else's platform.

Your code · your repo
Cloudflare

Served from a global edge network, so your site loads fast from anywhere and sits behind enterprise-grade security by default. Hosting cost: $0 per month.

Global edge · no hosting fees
TinaCMS · optional

Want to edit your own words between sessions? An optional lightweight editor lets you update text and posts yourself, without ever touching code, and without a monthly subscription.

Edit it yourself, or just call me
EmailJS

Custom, fully branded contact and intake forms, designed to match your site, not a generic embed, that deliver straight to your inbox with spam filtering built in. No server to run, no third-party form page.

SEO & structured data

Semantic markup, JSON-LD schema, a clean sitemap, and local SEO wired in from the first line of code, so search engines and AI assistants understand your practice.

Hourly or fixed quote, no minimum. I'll look and tell you honestly whether it's worth refreshing or whether you're better off starting fresh.

Common questions

Everything you might be wondering.

Every project is scoped individually, practice size, page count, copywriting, and a few other factors all affect the number. The best first step is a short call: I'll ask the right questions and put together a fixed quote with no surprises. No monthly platform fees; everything is one-time.
Two reasons. First, your site looks like nothing else, no template chrome, no "Squarespace stink." Second, it's smaller, faster, more secure, and easier to keep alive for years without paying $40/month. The tradeoff is you can't drag-and-drop edit pages yourself; for any change, you call me. Most clients find that's a feature, not a bug.
Completely. Your domain, your hosting account, your code in a repo in your name. Everything stays yours, even if we stop working together. This is the opposite of platforms like Brighter Vision or TherapySites, where the site disappears the day you stop paying.
Most builds launch within 3-5 weeks of the deposit and completed intake. Larger projects with custom illustration, individual therapist pages, and a blog typically run 5-8 weeks.
No. Copywriting collaboration is available across all tiers. I'll ask you the right questions and write your homepage, about page, and service descriptions in your voice. Most clients say it's their favorite part of the process.
Every site I build is structured for search from day one, clean semantic HTML, proper meta tags, sitemap, and on-page SEO targeted to your location and specialties. Realistic timeline for organic results is 3-6 months.
Yes, nationwide. Recent builds are in Colorado, Florida, and California. Everything is handled remotely.
Those platforms typically run $50-$100+/month, and that number keeps going up. When you stop paying, your site disappears. A hand-coded site from therapistweb.design is a one-time investment: you own your domain, your hosting account, and your code outright, permanently. Most clients recover that investment within 12-18 months compared to ongoing subscription costs, and end up with a site that looks and performs far better than any template platform can produce.
Nope, not exclusively. Therapists are the specialty, my wife runs a group practice, so I know that world from the inside, but the hand-coded, no-platform-fee approach works for anyone tired of renting their web presence. Recent proof: BrunsonWorks, a Denver property-management and owner's-rep outfit, zero clinical language required. And if what you actually need isn't a website but a web application, a client portal, a booking system, an internal tool so your team stops emailing spreadsheets at each other, that's a different build, and I do those too under a separate studio: studionull.io. Current resident project over there: a site whose entire HTML is generated live by PostgreSQL, because apparently that's a thing I find relaxing.
